Faial — the blue island

Faial is called "the blue island" because of the hydrangeas that cover its roads from north to south. At only 173 km², it brings together in a small territory an imposing volcanic caldera, a dramatic coastline, the most Atlantic marina in Europe, and the characteristic hospitality of the Azores.
